Spring Valley: the local guide
Spring Valley and the southwest.

A homegrown Las Vegas breakfast-and-lunch chain, opened in October 2010 by owner Liberty Hung and now in neighborhoods across the Valley. It’s best known for dessert-style pancakes, like s’mores and Orange Creamsicle stacks topped with its cream cheese syrup, alongside omelets, skillets and benedicts. The Filipino and Hawaiian side of the menu sets it apart: adobo fried rice, loco moco, kalua pig benedict and a Spam scramble. Hours differ a little by location, so check before you head out.

The Portland-born pancake chain (founded 1953) came to Las Vegas in 1995 through the Freudenberger family, and this Fort Apache Road location near Flamingo is its last one standing in the Valley. The draw is the oven-baked specialties: the giant Apple Pancake, loaded with Granny Smith apples and a cinnamon glaze, and the Dutch Baby, a puffy German-style pancake served with whipped butter, lemon and powdered sugar. Oven-baked omelets and thick-cut bacon round out the menu. The baked pancakes take longer to make, so order early if you’re on a schedule.
